This is from my photo shoot last week at a skating rink in Northern California. The client needed a shot of the family that owns the skating rink. We loved the classic snack bar and thought the family in front of it would work. John (pictured) was assisting me on this shoot and this is our test shot. John is in a lot of my photos but no one ever gets to see them. That is going to change! Photo nerd info: Nikon D3x, 50mm 1.4 lens at 2.8 @ 1/80th sec. iso 800, lighting was the ambient light and a travelight 375 watt strobe on a battery pack with an umbrella, we ate pizza and drank Pepsi.
1961 VW Beetle and other assorted Years
May 5, 2013This shot is from today’s Bob Baker Volkswagen Show in Carlsbad, California. This car is a 1961 but has parts from years as far back as an early 50′s split window grafted in. Owner said he has had the car since the 1970′s. Photo nerd info: Nikon D800, 80-200 Nikon Lens at 80mm, F3.2 @ 500 second, iso 50.

My personal 62 Volkswagen
April 3, 2013Took a little cruise out today to do my errands. Had a camera, a wall, my 62 bug and some sun. This is with the new front end modifications. There are a few more details needing attention. Note the center caps on front wheels missing. The new 4.5″ BRM wheels have a slightly smaller hole for the center cap so my custom billet ones don’t fit. Those are being custom-made this week. Front end is now running Airkewld front BAD disc brakes, stainless braided lines, 3″ narrowed beam, 4.5″ BRM style wheels and new ContiEcoContact 145/65/15 tires (Smart Car tires). Happy driving!
