Sidewalk Sale Image

This shot was done in the Mid-Nineties on 4×5 Transparency Film. The image shown is a direct scan of the film. No Photoshop vignette, short focus tricks. Bending that 4×5 camera is fun! The client was a shopping center with nice upscale shops. They needed and image for their ad to show they were having a sidewalk sale. They gave me the doll and the bag. I went back to the studio, built this campy set and this is what I delivered. Daughter teased me that I was playing with Barbies at work. This image was also used by Modern Postcard for a promo.

  1. Tilt. Shift. You guys get me all hot and bothered. And did you get Barbie’s permission to out-focus her clothing? Brilliant idea, little brother (not li’l bro).
