Room for Copy

kunde_1-5cvzin_b_024_novint_rtAs a photographer I find that most of us want to crop in camera to push what we want as the final image. In the commercial photography world sometimes leaving room to place copy is important to your client. Here is a good example of this. My instinct wants to turn the camera vertical and get in tight. I will shoot with space where the copy will be placed depending on the layout or if the client hasn’t approved where the copy will be placed, just shoot multiple versions with room for copy on right, left, top, bottom. This shot could also be used as a vertical if needed and that’s where larger camera sensors are important. More on that another day.
